The most sophisticated, potent, and powerful—not to mention legal—performance enhancer that has real game-winning potential is sleep. These claims can be backed up by over 750 scientific studies that have investigated the relationship between sleep and human performance, many of which have studied professional and elite athletes.

This is Jia
I was mesmerized by her looks. She was dressed in blue denim trousers and a simple white T-shirt which carried a message in bold blue letters, ‘It’s Always Too Early Until It’s Too Late.’ What stood out more was her boyish hairstyle, with hair dyed in fluorescent green. This was Jia, my friend SD’s daughter.

This blog has three stories and a couple of statements that may save your life and career.
First Story: Poonam
Major Poonam was getting late for her introduction parade and was rushing out to report in time. She was shouting instructions to her children about breakfast and catching the school bus
Poonam had passed her MBBS from Shimla about 11 years back and had married an Army officer. Later she had also joined the Army Medical Corps. Presently, her husband’s battalion was posted in a non-family field area and she lived with her children in an Army cantonment outside a second tier city. She was working at the local military hospital, which was being inspected by the GOC today. Poonam was proud to be working as MI Room (now called the Casualty) incharge and would be introduced to the GOC in the introduction parade.

“Sir, may I give you 27C, an aisle seat?” Check-in counter officer at the airlines asked me.
“I would prefer a seat somewhere in the front, if that is possible.” was my request.
His eyes searched around a bit on his computer screen and then he asked, “Sir, only a middle seat is available in the fifth row. Is that all right?”
I nodded and got 5E.

Another lockdown OPD
It was another weekend lockdown with an empty OPD waiting hall. Around noon, there was a welcome intrusion by a friend from the neighbouring department.
“I want you to see a patient for me.” He came into my chamber talking. SB was one of the the youngest professors in this college, while I was one of the oldest.
“Sure, what is the problem?” I pointed him to a chair kept across the table at an appropriate distance.

A newspaper story as trigger
On the morning of 20th Jan 2016, I was reading a newspaper story that said, “Young Jains shun good life to become monks” with a subheading “IIT-M girl leaves for Himalayas.” (See Figure below)
Something flashed in my mind – a conversation I had with AJ a few months back. And I urgently wanted to talk to him.
COVID-19 vaccine has been approved recently for emergency use authorisation. This is possibly the first vaccine that is being lauched without ascertaining its safety and efficacy to any degree of certainity. Government plans to administer it to the health care workers first. Are you ready to be the guinae pig?
A recent report has revealed that the universe is conscious. There is a long scientific and mathematical logic behind this assertion called Integrated Information Theory. Isnt it interesting that same knowledge has been taught by Vedanta for thousands of years.
